KCRA News has a great story today about a Sacramento, California man called Jim Lofgren who is able to control almost everything in his house from his couch using his iPad, including his television, Blu-ray player, heating, air conditioning and surveillance system. In fact, Lofgren says that the only thing he has to get up and do in his house these days is go to the fridge and get a beer! (And presumably go to the bathroom too, but maybe there’s an app for that!) Lofgren’s house has been transformed by a company called One Touch Media, who have set up both his iPad and his house with their equipment, which Lofgren tells KCRA has made his life simpler and more fun. According to Rich Goulis from One Touch Media, it’s possible to transform any home in similar fashion, with the standard package costing around $1,000. Apparently it will even alert you when your garage door is open and then close it for you!
