Missing iPad apps??

Hi all,
I have recently got an ipad2 and am pretty pleased with it!
However, when I was comparing it to my friends iPad (purchased at the same time), I noticed that they have messenger and the list app, but I do not.
I have tried the search function, buut they are not loaded on my iPad.
Any idea how I can get them? I have had a look on iTunes, but cannot find them to download......
Very strange!
Any help would be appreciated.

You need to be on iOS 5.x.x you can check if you are by going to the Settings App then General>About>Version.
