Fans of popular MMORPG Ragnarok Online (which has over 50,000,000 million players worldwide), and indeed fans of old-school top-down RPGs in general, will be excited to hear that Gravity Interactive has today released a free, single-player iOS version of the game, called Ragnarok Violet. The game is very much a companion app to the online game, utilising some of the most unique and fun systems of Ragnarok Online, such as an advanced Pet system, item-enchanting card collecting, and cute costumes, as well as a whole new Ragnarok Violet world to explore.
Starting in the capital city Prontera, you’ll get to fight against familiar monsters from the game, such as Porings, Spores and Marins, as you fight your way through the lush landscape in search of quest items and tougher monsters so that you can level up, and collect drops that you see in the original game, such as Empty Bottles, Honey and even the different coloured herbs. Your pet will act as your friend and helper by picking up your loot, and you’ll also have to remember to keep him fed or he’ll run away! Looks like a very nice free RPG, enjoyable whether or not you’re already a Ragnarok online player.
