Mojang has recently been acquired by Microsoft, and it now has has a new game coming to the iPad. And by the looks of it, it’ll be getting a price drop across all platforms when it gets officially released.
Scrolls is a hex-tiled collectible card battler, somewhat similar to Heroes of Might and Magic meets Magic: The Gathering or Hearthstone. Though it comes from Mojang, it has a very different style of game than the popular game.
Scrolls has been available as a beta on the Mac and PC, but Mojang is now getting for an iPad release later this fall. As TouchArcade informs, its price will drop from $20 to $5 for the iPad version, and the same will happen toPC and Mac. Mojang writes in their announcement post on the official game blog:
“We’ve realised that our current price point is not feasible for flatter, more touchy, machines. As you probably already know, games are cheap on those things. Free-to-play would be an option, but we’re not keen on the way that that form of monetisation can affect gameplay.”
And if you already bought Scrolls for $20, Mojang will gift $20 worth of Shards, which is one of the game’s currencies used to buy cards, decks and items. Right now, there's no official release date for when Scrolls is coming to the iPad, as we know it's coming this 'late autumn'.
Meanwhile, check out its trailer below, as well.
