A lot of my music is not bought from iTunes and so I can not get it to load on my devices. I have had a look through the App Store for a player, but just wondered if any of you lovely people could recommend one?

Do you have a music library on a PC or Mac? You can import all your music into iTunes there to manage and sync. You can rip you "old school" CDs, or import other sourced music there. Once in iTunes you can choose what music to sync to your iPad and then everything is going to be in the Music app without the need to jump around other music player apps to find the song you want.
