Zane Lowe has announced some new artist shows for Beats 1 radio in an interview with Entertainment Weekly via MacRumors.
During the interview Lowe revealed that artists such as Haim, Major Lazer and Eric Prydz are to get their own regular hour-long shows on Beats 1, which will all be in a similar vein to previously aired shows by the likes of Elton John, Pharrell, Dr. Dre and St Vincent.
The new show line-up will begin in the fall, with Major Lazer’s “Lazer Sound” kicking off on October 2 at 6 p.m. Eastern, and Eric Prydz’s show starting a week later, beginning a regular two-weekly schedule where it will alternate with Major Lazer’s show. Details of the Haim show’s start date have yet to be revealed, but Lowe did disclose that it would feature Haim’s “infectious” music, as well as personal stories about the upbringing of the three sisters that make up the band.
