new Ipad user, already hating Apple

Simpleton was probably not the best word I could have used. Sorry, the Apple-imposed limitations can be frustrating for some tech people. Just sharing an idea.. a thought... in an iPad forum... seemed relevant to the topic.

I guess I could send an email to Apple, but I don't have much faith they would be open to any outside ideas. That's why we all have one font, one color scheme, one layout. It's like designing the greatest car ever and welding the hood shut. Sure a lot of people may be fine with it, but it would be a huge middle finger to car enthusiasts who like to make even minor tweaks to improve performance or functionality.

I think an Advanced settings menu to incorporate some of Cydia's best options would be a good idea.

Or to simply stop resisting the jailbreakers, embrace it even.

I mean, iPads cost more than anyone else, they track our whereabouts more than anyone, and lock us down more than anyone... Just seems so totalitarian the way it is. I love the iPad, but knowing they choose to block any customizations feels anti-human spirit.

Again, just sharing a thought.

Black belly pork Is being removed from butchers all over the country due to lack of demand.

Time is the most precious commodity there is and how we spend it is essential to our well being.
When we tweak adjust and modify our gadgets we are spending that commodity. It's a luxury. For some it is time well spent, but for many of us "simpletons" we have better or more pressing things to spend it on. You picks your choose.....

Apple is betting on us rather than the tweakers.

Apparently they have enough cash in hand to continue working at the same level for another seven years without selling anything.

Well, as it happens, I don't mind it at all. I would have eaten it. But my mom was the one that bought it and she wasn't happy with it. She just exercised her right to return it, rather than waste money on something that didn't suit her requirements. Wise old woman.

Why do you think they won't be open to suggestions? You have no evidence to support that, why don't you try this http://www.apple.com/feedback/ipad.html after all, Apple put it there for a reason.

How many of the complainers, detractors and even the haters have used the page I have linked to before coming here to voice their opinions? You haven't as stated in your post. I am surprised that not one of you on this thread has said we hate ????, now follow this link and join us in putting our views to Apple! FWIW, I have used this and with a bit of searching you will find I have supplied this link to others. anyone with access to the Internet can find it without my help.

Now, if one of you uses it, you are probably right, nothing will happen, but if you have a little faith and you all expend as much energy using the official feedback as you do here then who knows, you may get what you want or someway towards it. But if you can't be bothered to try......well, why should anyone else listen to you?

I don't have any problem with you for what you want, nor do I think that what you or the others want is wrong.......I'm just happy with what I have.......before I purchased it I researched it so I knew what I was getting so nothing has been a surprise to me with the exception of the things that it can do which Apple didn't tell me about.

Apple does respond to users. Hence the option now for the lock/unlock switch on the side. At first it only did orientation. Then due complaints from iPhone owners who bought iPads, they made it the mute button. Then due to those who liked the orientation feature, we have both. What Apple will not do is change an essential philosophy of making things more convenient for the average user.

Did not realize that. Excellent point.

Apple listens even when nobody knows. In the past, if you dropped your laptop, it often damaged the hard drive due to the disc spinning and the reader losing alignment. Apple developed a system that uses an accelerometer to sense a falling laptop and parked the hard drive disc before it hit. For many, it is the little things like that separates Apple from the rest. Most do not realize how much of an impact Apple has, because the other manufacturers are so quick about copying them. This is why Apple is so secretive, to keep the advantage of their research as long as possible.

Yep. Why continue to be miserable with something and complain about it if you aren't happy with it? Especially when you have the opportunity to return it and get your money back so you can put it toward what you REALLY want. It's stultifying to know some people just don't want to understand this simple line of common sense. That's indefensible.

I vote in every election knowing the results will probably change nothing, but just like writing to the link above, I now have. "bitchin" rights
Thank you for the link.
Maybe if they won't fix the wifi bug they'll let me have a wifi on/off widget to turn wifi on and off faster when it acts up. No it's not my router. Ive done all the remedies I've read on various threads to no avail, my wife never upgraded above 4.2 and doesn't have the problem, my sister, also 4.2 doesn't have the problem, mine does it on all wifi routers I've tried, theirs doesn't.
