What's new

new pc

Copy the music folder from old to the new computer. Install iTunes. Done.
Make sure you copy the WHOLE music folder, or else iTunes will get mad about the database.
And this is assuming all music is actually in the music folder.

My question is, why move iTunes from a win 7 comp to another win 7 comp? Most people move from an older to a newer such as xp to 7.

When I moved my iTunes to my new PC (went from XP laptop to Win 7 tower), I used the tips and help in this article:

Transferring your iTunes Library | iLounge Article

It made my transfer completely painless. A bit time-consuming, yes, but in the end, I had iTunes set up on the new PC with no errors.

It's a long article, but it's also good in helping keep your iTunes neat and tidy.

Hope this helps.

This is a good question as I am getting ready to do the same thing. Although, with iCloud soon we won't have to worry about transferring things from one PC to another.

Sent from my iPad 2 using iPF

Thanks for all the help. It's done and working. Why from one Win 7 to another Win 7? Because the old Win 7 is dying and I bult a new one and updated one. The old one started out as a Vista and was upgraded to Win 7 sometime back.

Isn't iCloud working now? I could have sworn I have been reading threads that it is working now ~ even without iOS 5.

hmm.....or not!:o

Music purchases were definitely transferring to the iPad automatically on 4.3.3 yesterday morning, I can confirm that. I don't know about the rest...

P.S. It's 3:00am, doesn't anyone sleep around here!? :)
