Just bought an ipad Air yesterday and going through the normal learning process. Trying to find Solitaire in the games area but cannot. Likewise on my Facebook page there is this message about Messenger that I cannot get rid of...no options to do that. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

There are lots of solitaire apps in the AppStore - but it sure is hard to sort through a search for them. If I may, I recommend my favorite solitaire app, "Real Solitaire." There is a free version (link: https://itunes.apple.com/us/app/real-solitaire-free-for-ipad/id373942073?mt=8) and one that is $1.99, USD (link: https://itunes.apple.com/us/app/real-solitaire-for-ipad/id364895318?mt=8).

I find them to be very (very!) similar to the software game you'd normally find on a Windows computer.

For the Facebook question, I don't get that message when I go to Facebook on my iPad Air. So, I afraid there is no suggestion I have for you to remove that Messenger message.

I do know Facebook is pushing their Messenger app. Maybe if you downloaded the [free] app, it'd make the message disappear? Just grasping at straws here, sorry...

Tons of solitaire games the App Store. My current favorite is FreeCell by Branium. They also make the more traditional Klondike style Solitaire.

If you are talking about playing games in FaceBook itself, you can't do that in the app or in Safari (the browser). You 'might' be able to do it with the third party browser Puffin. I'm not sure. There is a free, trial, version you can check out to see if it works.

If it does work, don't expect it to work as well as using a desktop. The FaceBook apps/games are not designed to work with a touch screen device.

FaceBook has separated its main FaceBook app and FaceBook Messenger. For a while you could send and receive messages with either, but they have put and end to that. As a consequence they are on a major ad blitz about FaceBook Messenger, trying to get people to download and use the app.

Expect to see an ads for it anytime you access FaceBook on a mobile device. At least for a while.
