About me: 74 years old great-grandmother six times and gadget-oriented. Unfortunately, lost my house in Katrina in 2005 and relocated. Retired but do a lot of volunteer work. Just completed a course at our junior college for computer graphics. Unfortunately, did not get any hands on instructions on Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign. Cursory at best. Just got into photography.

I am not really new to iPad but have a couple of questions because all I've used it for is to play games, get on FaceBook and check emails.

Mine is a Model MD328LL/A with version 6.1.3 (10B329) 16GB. Is this an iPad 4?? I can't find that information anywhere. I bought it from Apple a couple of years ago.

Secondly, I cannot upgrade to 7.1 because I don't have enough memory. I need to move my pictures (3.6 GB) to an SD disk and was reading about the apotop wi-reader. Will it work with my iPad?

I purchased additional iCloud storage and have 21.4GB available. What can I store there? I thought I would be able to move all my photos there, but apparently not.

Any help will be appreciated.

Hi, obasanla! Welcome to iPF!

Your device is an iPad 3rd generation. It should have a 30 pin connector, while the iPad 4 comes with a lightning connector.

Your question about the Apotop Wi-Reader was already answered in another thread, so I don't need to answer this one. :-)

To your question about iCloud:
It's not like Dropbox, OneDrive, Box and whatever else exists. (There are quite a few to choose from.) iCloud's main purpose is to backup your device (that's what the storage is for), syncing between Apple devices, keeping user names and passwords, an finding your iPad, if you lose it.

Hope that helps.
