AppleInsider reports today that Apple and News Corp have decided to delay the launch of their much-heralded The Daily iPad newspaper due to problems with the new subscription service for newspapers and magazines that Apple is in the process of setting up in the App Store.
According to AppleInsider, MediaMemo reported on Thursday that the launch date, which had been planned for January 19th, has been pushed back to an as yet unknown date, although it will be weeks rather than months. It was believed that Apple CEO Steve Jobs and News Corp supremo Rupert Murdoch would be sharing the stage at the launch, we’ll have to wait a little longer to witness that particular pairing now.
In the past few days the first leaked pictures from The Daily have emerged, with Poynter unearthing the image at the top of this post in the source code at the Daily’s website.
