Although the mail icon promisses some mail, when opening the incoming mail says "no incoming mail". I know there is via my apple laptop. Today is The first time. I loaded IOS5 weeks ago.

Hi and welcome to the Forum!

With regards to your question when an app behaves strangely it is best to close it completely and then relaunch it. From the home screen do the four finger swipe up or double press the home button to reveal your multi task bar along the bottom. It will show all the apps that you have opened at one time or another. Long press the app until it jiggles and a red minus sign will appear above it. Press the minus sign, this will close the app, not delete it. It's also a good idea to close all these apps, as it helps the iPad run smoothly, I do mine every night. Check and see if it is operating now and let us know how you go.

You mail is also an app and can play up the same as other apps and this is the first step to take when an app does play up, if that doesn't fix it then we will look at other reasons why it could be happening.

Sorry, i fail to see connection between my mail and my apps. Please explain.

Mail is an app, sometimes an app just needs a refresh to give it a kickstart, what Leelai suggested is a good start, if it woks great if it doesn't then we can try additional help. BTW, when you say it promises mail, do you mean that there is a numbered circle on the Mail App icon indicating that you have incoming mail?

Thanks, understood. Closing mail and other Apps did not help. Provider helped me to reset the
Mailaccounts. Reason for problemen uncertain, setting this time via SSL. Gmail may give problems.
