No Sound in Games and Apps

Recently discovered that all my games and apps that required sound had gone silent. Checked that the Mute Switch was off and that the audio volume was at max. Also checked that "Ringtones and Alerts" audio was maxed in the General Settings. No joy until I found this in one of our Forums:

Known bug.

From general settings set side switch from autorotate to mute.

Now mute the iPad from the switch.

Now unmute the iPad from the switch.

Now test in game sounds. They should be working again.

This cured my problem. I just wanted to publicise this bug more widely with a suitable subject header and the fix for any other desperate iPad users out there. Perhaps Apple will get around to fixing this in the next iOS update.
