No Wifi

Hi my son bought a second hand ipad 1 a week ago and it has worked perfectly but now it is saying there is no wifi connected. The words are faded out in the menu so you can't even click on it. Tried resetting network settings and it didn't work. Occasionally you can click on wifi but then it doesn't pick up any signals at all. Please help!!!

Try this.......

If you can, select the network then pick "forget this network". Then reboot your modem/router. Once the modem/router has rebooted try signing back into the network.

When you go into Settings the Wi-Fi menu item is not in bold and says "No Wi-Fi" so you can't even click on it! I am worried it is a hardware problem!

Ok, first thing to try is holding the on/off button in for around 10 seconds, until the slide to off screen appears and drag the slider to off, when it's completely off, wait around 10 seconds then turn back on (you may need to press both the on/off and home buttons together for this).
