Non-Responsive iPad in Facebook

I am on a thread on facebook about this same problem. There are govs of people having the same issue. We did find a kind of work around tho. On Safari browser, with facebook...you can hold down on the like..when you get the popup, choose open and it will like it. Do the same for share. The only way you can comment tho, is by opening it up in a new tab, then you can comment, like and share all at once! These work arounds do not work in Chrome or Mercury browsers tho. Have not tried this on Dolphin. And the concensus with the people on facebook is that it seems to have all started on 12/11/12...when the new little See what happened to you in 2012 box appeared on your wall...which when you click to open it, there is a blank white screen.

I am also having this problem using safari and Facebook. It is very annoying. The Facebook app is useless.

It works on safari,chrome and dolphin browsers to me except mercury browser which I can log in on Facebook but does not show anything whatsoever like if you're in a blank page.

I have the same issues with my ipad2. I'm actually glad to see I'm not the only one. I have done all the suggested fixes. It must be a
bug that will, hopefully, be fixed with the next upgrade. I noticed this problem a couple of weeks ago when I would tap on someone who was having a birthday listed on the right side of the page, and the text box would disappear instantly, before I could type anything.

Due to the significant number of members who are experiencing issues I have forwarded your observations to an editor / colleague, who writes for a tech trade publication. I've asked him to cross reference and see if there's a known FB / iOS issue similar to what you're describing, that has been written about.

If anything turns up I will post the information here.

I am also having the same exact problem as everyone else and it just started happening on Tuesday, Dec 11th! Prior to that date, everything was working fine!! I hope it can be fixed, because I hate the FB app!! I've cleared cookies and data, removed safari, reinstalled the app and tried Google Chrome! Nothing worked!!

I'm having the same problem, day 3 or 4 and I only use the FB app. I can like or respond to 1 post and then nothing.

This is haopening to most people on ipads using a browser for days. apparently facebook redesigned something that is affecting the way safari on ipad orvany browser on ipad interacts with it. My guess is its flash oriented since ipads dont have flash check the facebook forum people including myself unable to like, comment share or open links for days. I dont like the FB app because the pics are huge and are half cut off. Hope facebook changes this. we need more people to file a bug report with them

This morning i am now having the following problem with Zynga's app Words With Friends. I play one word fine, then the next word...it never goes through, or my whole ipad crashes and restarts. It sounds like Facebook, Zynga and Apple are NOT on the same page for some reason. I finally got my dam laptop back out.

The usual fixes:

When you have problems with an app it's a good idea to clear it from RAM.

Close/Clear the app: With the problem app closed, double tap on the Home button to get the multitask bar. Tap and hold on any icon in the bar until they jiggle, then tap the minus sign on the problem app. This will remove it from RAM and insure a clean start the next time you launch the app.

If that does not work try a restart,

Restart: Hold down the power button until the power off slider appears. Slide it off. When the iPad finishes shutting down, hold down the power button again until the Apple logo appears. Apple recommends you restart the iPad at least once a month.

and then a reset if that does not work.

Reset: Hold down the power and home buttons until the Apple logo appears. The iPad will reboot. This usually takes a bit longer than a restart. takes a bit longer than a restart.

Reset All Settings: Another, somewhat more drastic thing you can do is Reset All Settings. You'll find this under Settings > General > Reset > Reset All Settings. It won't erase any of your content, apps, or accounts; but you will have to go through most of your other settings and re-tweak them back to your liking.

I still can't comment even with open in new tab. Can you give more details on this? Oh, wait. I just figured it out. Thanks!

When using the Facebook app on my iPad 2 I can no longer Share an image with a specific friend's page, only to my own page. Has anyone else noticed this or have I just missed something in the new mobile FB app?
