Not able to update apps...

iPF Noob
Ve got an original iPad and tried to install updates for a few apps. It just chugs away trying to (no progress with the progress bars) and then says it can't purchase. Nothing has changed since the last time I downloaded an app (yesterday) so I'm not sure what the problem is. I restarted the iPad but that didn't help.

Any ideas?

Have you tried deleting those apps and just download them again from the app store?

Are you on a fast Internet connection?
 
I'm on cable modem here. Is it fast? Well, that's relative. ;)

I did cancel and try again. They chugged away again for quite a while. Then they finally downloaded. Strange...
 
It seems that updating apps is sometimes a hit-and-miss business. Several Members have had the same problem and there doesn't seem to be any particular reason behind the problem!!

When strange things happen when downloading apps (and it does happen occasionally), I just assume the App Store is really busy, or that a ton of people are trying to get a certain update a that time, or "they're working on it", and try again later. Don't know if that's true, but it seems to work (providing that my wifi works normally on everything else).;)
