Went to my Notepad I use more for archiving stuff and it was completed wiped of everything. What happened, can it be restored? Thanks

Have a look at "Accounts" in Notes, and make sure you have "All Notes" selected.

No idea what may have happened if they have indeed been deleted, or otherwise lost. I've always found the Notes app to be very stable and trustworthy. It syncs between all my devices faultlessly.

There have been threads about lost notes on the native notes app.

I ran into one such experience -- I noticed that a note that I was updating refused to save repeatedly, then later disappeared. My other notes remained untouched. At that point, I switched to Evernote for good.

The note that I lost wasn't high importance, so I didn't sweat it, but I didn't want to risk something similar with other notes.

I'd perhaps suggest you use a note app that either syncs with Dropbox or that you can at least add any entries to Dropbox. Any app where I want to keep info of any kind I feel needs a way to be backed up and have that backup be accessed directly. I use Noteability and for a really simple direct note app, Plain Text.

I spent quite a bit of time trying to help a friend restore her notes--which were important--in Notepad. We never could restore them, Icloud didn't restore them. She became a believer in using one with accessible cloud backup--from her PC, phone and Ipad.

I've suddenly lost all my notes on IPad 2. Where have they gone and why? Is there any way of recovering them?
