I have an original iPad, and just purchased my new iPad (3rd generation) tonight. Love it!

First went a m store. then we talked little after I asked him if there was a white one. But they said "NO" anyway....
as a capricon, I didn't give up and I checked Saturn, MediaMarkt, Medimax... there was no white coloured :/
eventually I bought BLACK ipad 3 in MacStore...

The keyboard dock can be an iPad stand as well. But if you are never going to be typing very much then an iPad stand is probably a better choice for you.
