What's new

On the road and off it too.

Saw this today. Gives "moving house" a whole new meaning.

They're showing series on TV here in Germany/Austria from USA, where houses are moved that way.

This is Alberta. We only have licence plates on the back.

Really? That's strange to me, why?

It's just the way it is here. Quite a few US states and Canadian provinces only require a license plate at the rear of the vehicle. Trucks that pull trailers only need one also, but it's at the front.

I appreciate this is an old thread, but FYI, single, rear-only plates started in Alberta as a cost-savings measure in the early 1990s.

And I guess it's gone on for so long now, it will never change. I did wonder if that was the basis of why only one plate.

Now I know! Thanks!

They considered bringing back dual plates in 2010 but it got shot down. Hope it stays that way.

Every morning my siblings and I used to walk 1/4 mile to catch the school bus. Our best days were when a big rig would come barreling down the highway and we would have our arms out there pumping away at the driver. We all got a big hit when the trucker blew his air horn! The wonders of joy when we were kids. To this day I still have the impulse but manage to stop myself! Thanks to all the truckers who gave us a blast! :-)

We used to do that while playing in front of my cousin's house. There were always big trucks going by. The Neighbors did not appreciate us. :)

I remember those books from when I was in elementary school!Every kids dream to be an orphan and live indipendant of grown ups. Thanks for the flash back.I watched the borrowers on Bbc1 and they did a good job reinacting another fond read.Didn't help with my rodent phobia though.
