November 30, 1835; Samuel Clemens is born in Florida, Missouri. He later gained fame under the pen name, Mark Twain.
 
December 1, 1990; shortly after 11am, local time, tunnel workers drilled a car sized opening in a wall or rock, linking Britain with the mainland for the first time since the last ice age. The age of the Chunnel had begun.

December 1, 1913; Henry Ford installs the first moving assembly line for the production of complete automobiles. It reduced assembly time for his cars from 12 hours to 2 hours and 30 minutes.

December 04, 1872; the Mary Celeste is spotted by the Dei Gratia, a British brig under the command of Captain David Morehouse, sailing erratically under full sail. Upon boarding the ship, the Mary Celeste was found to be abandoned, but with ful supplies of food and water.
