iOS 6? No, the background for icons and and folders is set in stone.

iOS 7? The background for pretty much everything is affected by the wallpaper. Change wallpapers and folder icons, the dock, and the open folder backgrounds will all change; along with several other UI elements.

Changing wallpapers is a game of patience on older iPads. Wait a while after every gesture and button press before you decide that nothing happened.

Good point TPoet, but that sick blue color behind my groups of icons makes me nauseated. Just saying. I will do some regrouping and see if it changes anything, thanks!

THANKS! TPOET!!! I changed my home screen. To a photo of my MOLA my BFF bought for me in the Caribbean and the background and even the logos background are at least passable to my eyes! IPF is purple again instead of that baby blue that just flattened everything in my eyes. Now I understand why everyone has been busy house cleaning.

No problem.

I've had more luck with darker backgrounds than lighter. That will be, to some extent, a matter of taste. I think a light background can work. It will just be harder to find one that satisfies.

I didn't remember that one! But that IS the year I started programming in Basic and learning computer designing. I wonder If anyone remembers mosaic, logo, all those first time computer languages I learned that year, graduated at the top of my class and then broke my back. I crashed instead of my computer,
I mostly remember when a student went berserk and began shooting scads of people. I wish I knew that girl, her family, friends and how it all went wrong.
