Rodale Inc’s Organic Gardening magazine has today launched its own iPad app, making it the first gardening magazine to enter the iPad market. The October/November issue is the first one to hit the iPad, and will include a host of multimedia and interactive content. In addition to the in-depth coverage of organic gardening techniques, plants and design to be found in the print version of the magazine, users of the iPad app will be able to experience bonus content not found in the print version, including photo galleries and many delicious and healthy recipes. Probably one of the best things in the whole app is the series of “how-to†videos, which bring the art and craft of organic gardening to life.
“For 70 years, readers have turned to Organic Gardening as the leading media resource for ‘living lightly from the ground up,’ as we consistently deliver the safest and most natural approach to creating a healthy lifestyle by beginning in the garden,†says Ethne Clarke, Editor-in-Chief, Organic Gardening. “Our entry into the iPad forum gives us another exciting way to connect with our readers as well as attracting a new audience from the next generation of gardeners.â€
You can download the free Organic Gardening app here from the App Store, with each individual issue costing $3.99 as an in-app purchase.
