I'm usually a lurker here, so trying to get the hang of how the site works. I had thought I was doing an intro for the Dragonvale forums but apparently ended up in the general intro forum, so I need to rework my intro.:)

I'm a 40 year old, divorced woman on disability for migraines but also recently had carpal tunnel on both my hands. Since I couldn't exactly type during that time, I started exploring games that I could just "tap at" as a form of entertainment while I healed. The last surgery was Nov. 21st, so I still have to take it easy and not overdue so here's my basic philosophy (particularly toward "free" games): I'm broke and there's no way I'm spending money on pixels on a screen and I refuse to pester my friends on Facebook because I hate it when they do that to me. My main challenge is: How far can I go without any cash outlay or alienating friends (though I'm pretty sure some of my friends are already aliens! LOL Couldn't resist that one!).

Anyone wishing to "friend" me in the game center is welcome but I'm keeping it off of FB and I don't do Twitter (I call it Blogging for ADHD). My username is Muincat--same as here. Right now, I'm just playing Dragonvale but I will probably branch out in the future. I'm not a hard core gamer and I don't believing in wasting half your life on games that hours out of your day, but this silly little things that you can just click a few times and check in on from time to time are great.

Hi Muincat and welcome to the Forum!

I enjoyed reading your intro and am sorry to hear of your problem with carpal tunnel, my father had an operation for this also, so take it easy and all the best for a speedy recovery. There is an app called Appshopper, you can input a wish list and when the apps come on sale it will notify you, I have gotten many paid apps free this way. Dragonvale certainly is a popular game and it would be best if you go to that thread and add your user name there as I'm thinking not many players will see it here. Enjoy!!
