Overdrive to Bluefire transfer issue

Hi,
I had to return an ebook to our library and now the next day have checked
it out again(limited checkout time)
Downloaded successfully and transferred(I thought)to my ipad1 with itunes.
It does show up in the Bluefire Reader Documents box in itunes after "adding",
but on my ipad1 it comes up with the title but no image of cover and circle with line through it(not allowed)symbol. When I click on it(in Bluefire)it verifies the loan and says, "item can no longer be accessed." Even though the info now shows the new date for checkout and when it expires(April 9).
I have retransferred it with itunes, restarted the ipad1, deleted the ebook from ipad1, and still get the same results.
Any suggestions would REALLY be appreciated !
It will open in Overdrive, but I would prefer Bluefire Reader for the many reasons listed in other posts.

Additional Info-
I have tried the Dropbox solution to this issue and still with the same results.
The correct file with new checkout and due date info does appear in Dropbox
on the ipad1 but after clicking on the curved arrow to open-with Bluefire, I get
the same result-file can no longer be accessed.

Are you perhaps trying to move the original file? Mine does not "disappear" in Overdrive or elsewhere, just becomes unusable and I have to msnually delete the book though I might get a message asking if I want to delete the books that are not viable (in the Overdrive app). I just reread your post. It really does sound as though you transferred the old file, not the new one.

Does your librsry hsve an area in your account where you can redownload a loaned book? If so, I would delete all the files you have of this book to be sure you aren't trying to move the one that is "old" and redownload the current loan. BTW, have you setup an Adobe account in Bluefire? If you don't do this it will be unable to open DRM books from Dropbox.

Hi, thanks for the reply.
No, I made sure that I deleted the old files of the ebook first, so it's not that. Wish it was.
I have subsequently deleted the Adobe Digital Editions and Overdrive from the main
computer(from which I originally transferred to ipad through itunes), reinstalled everything and now the epub file(for the ebook) will not download at all to my pc(main computer). Yes, I have setup the Adobe account in Bluefire-other titles work fine.
Also have emailed tech support for the library but no reply as of yet.
Have been able to download a different title ebook(epub)and so my account is not completely messed up. It must be something I did when "returning" the original book
which now is preventing me from downloading it again. Have decided to just read this
one in Overdrive on the ipad and not have copy/paste etc like Bluefire offers.
Live and learn I guess....must be able to be solved, but I am ready to move on since it
is just this one title that seems to be affected.

I agree. It must have something to do with the return. I've never been able to redownload a returned item because they have always been on others' hold lists and they move to the next person on the list. I have to put mine on hold and get in line again LOL.

I will say I don't have Overdrive on my main computer. When I download on my main computer I just download to a folder on my desktop and then drag that ascm file into Dropbox (I have a folder called books on Dropbox), open it in Dropbox on the Ipad, touch the "open with" and choose Bluefire. Bluefire on the Ipad has the ability to open the DRM protected book since it is registered with Adobe. You see it saying "verifying loan" prior to opening the book.
 
Just to add the latest...
I have received replies from both Bluefire help and the regional library helpdesk.
Bluefire states that there is a known issue with rechecking out returned books and
they are working on it...via Overdrive server issue(so says Bluefire anyway).
My regional library says they are forwarding my email to their vendor support.
Morale:NEVER return a book !...WAIT ! I didn't mean THAT ! My fellow library-media
specialists(K-5-RETIRED !)would not like that statement !LOL....

And even more of the latest...

1. The issue with Bluefire Reader and the epub book I re-checked out appears to be solved.
2. I tried Bluefire last night and what do you know-the book which has not worked is
suddendly available and works great ! Totally unknown how this has occurred but I'll
take it !
As a side(and somewhat snidely by me)note: The vendor support person for my library
system(Adobe level not local)was presumptuous enough to comment in an email to
my local that,"This app from OverDrive delivers all the functionality that your
patron is looking for on the iPad. There is no need to use the Bluefire app
."
A little rude and pretty stupid actually. Ever hear of copy/paste or search functions ?
Nothing like a little corporate sales pitch to point out how few featured the app actually
is.

I found the "local support" for our state digital library to be a librarian with not great credentials for digital but she took the job on and was trying. The web folks are better but they aren't who you interact with. It will get better. %>). Our folks don't even seem to know about Bluefire.
