P.Diddy Holidays on Superyacht Controlled by iPad

CNN reports today that rapper and all-round music mogul P. Diddy is currently enjoying a holiday on an $850,000 superyacht controlled by iPad. The yacht is called Solemates, and is the first pleasure yacht to be kitted out with the technology. Complimentary iPads are used to control all shipboard entertainment and climate systems, as well as the blinds and the lights in the cabin. The on-board iPads use custom-made apps designed especially by Germany luxury yacht firm Lurssen.

“You won’t find this app for download in the Apple store anytime soon,†Rupert Connor, central agent from chartering firm Luxury Yacht Group, told CNN. “The captain hands each guest their own iPad when they board, which they get to keep for the entirety of the trip.â€

Mind you, anyone who can afford the $690,000 per week, plus expenses of roughly $150,000, that it costs to hire the yacht will probably already have their own iPad, probably one of those special gold-plated ones!

That looks like good fun. I wonder what would happen if you went to relax somewhere and your kids found the Ipad and start to play... That could be pretty hilarious. Hopefully it wouldn't end up somehow like EDITED. Still an interesting idea though.
