password frustrations

when attempting to enter a password for the Games Centre application the first time, we keep getting told "incorrect password" ... we have entered a new password because we choose "create new account" .. to start from scratch so why is it not accepting our new password ???

One thing you might check is that, by default, the iPad autocapitalises the first letter of the first word of what it perceives to be a new sentence. If your password has a lower case letter as the first character check that the iPad is not changing it to a capital letter - you can see the character briefly before moving on to the second character. If it is, use the shift button to cancel the shift before typing the character in

There are often requirements for a password, such as minimum and maximum length, first character must be a letter, at least one character should be a number, no symbols, etc. They vary from site to site to app to kingdom come.

It has been a while since I set up Game Center, so I don't remember for sure, but pay close attention to the dialogs and see if they say anything along those lines.
