Pokémon Go mania may have died down a little from those crazy early days of summer, but make no mistake, the game is still riding high at number one in the Top Grossing chart in the App Store, and YouTubers such as Ali A are still attracting over a million views for their Pokémon Go videos.
And that position at the top of the money-making charts is no surprise whatsoever according to the latest figures from Sensortower, via VG247, which reports that Pokémon Go has grossed over $440 million in the 2 months since it was released. That means that it out-grossed some of the biggest Hollywood blockbusters of the summer, including Warcraft, Jason Bourne, and Monster Hunt, and was only slightly behind Kung Fu Panda 3 at $519 million worldwide.
Aside from making loads of cash for developer Niantic, and quite a lot less for Nintendo, the latter did see a big increase in sales of Pokémon games on the Nintendo 3DS, and set up the forthcoming release of Pokémon Sun & Moon on 3DS very nicely.
