Good morning ... We have a MacBook pro wirelessly connected to an airport extreme router. We have an HP5610 connected USB to the router. The notebook prints fine through this router. I now have the new iPad and am wondering how to get it to print through this router to the HP printer. Can anyone help?

Brian

Hi Brian - welcome to the forum! :)

An easy solution would be a printer that is enabled w/ Apple's AirPrint - HP has many but your model number does not seem to be on the list (Check HERE).

I have 2 printers (Brother laser & Canon MF inkjet) w/ USB connections to my desktop computer; there are a number of applications that 'mimic' AirPrint - the one that I use is called FingerPrint (Info HERE) by Collobos - cost is $10 and requires downloading a small program to your computer (i.e. nothing needed on the iPad) - works fine for me; check their website for more details, if interested.

I'm sure others will 'chime in' w/ their own suggestions and solutions - good luck!

Thank you for your replies. Our family is very quickly leaving the PC world behind and we are buying more and more Apple products the problem I face now is interfacing them. The MacBook Pro the extreme and the HP printer works seamlessly. It seems to me that the iPad since it sees the extreme should also see the printer and print. Do you think this is something that I should call Apple about directly.
