Publisher docs

I work at a secondary school and we use office 2007. How do I view ms publisher documents on iPad. My iPad put them onto ifiles app but when I try to open them nothing happens. Do I have to convert .pub docs to PDF first to access or is there something i'm not doing right. I have office2, good reader, iworks and ifiles apps.
