Purchased Songs From ITunes

I'm new at this Apple Forum; so please just bare with me! I would like to know why my purchased songs From iTunes are not showing up on my iPad? Could someone please help me with this?

Did you purchase these on your iPad, or on your PC?

If you open iTunes on your iPad then go to the "purchased" tab, "not on this iPad" you should see a list of your purchased songs, you can download them onto your iPad using the button with a cloud on it.......
