According to a report from 9to5 Mac, Apple is getting ready to open three new Apple Stores in New York, two of which will be in major new markets for the first time.
Brooklyn and Queens are the locations of the two new stores that will be on completely new ground for Apple, and the third store is located on Manhattan’s Upper East Side on 74th and Madison.
The Queens store will be on the second floor of the Queens Center Mall. A source tells AppleInsider that it will be the biggest Apple retail store in a New York mall, and it is expected to do very well financially. The store is currently under construction, with Apple expected to make a formal announcement about the store very soon.
As far as the Upper East Side store is concerned, AppleInsider says that it is running behind as Apple is trying to find nearby office space to use as staff rooms, meeting centers, and so on.
The construction of the Brooklyn store is also apparently not running to time, and is not likely to make its original opening date target of April 2015, and may even slip until early 2016.
