Re-installing iTunes to an external harddrive?

So this is more of an iTunes related question but it's my first time using iTunes and I made the mistake of installing into my C: drive. Now my laptop is 4+ years old and has an embarassingly small C: drive and now my problem is that all of the TV shows and things I download on iTunes are going to my C: drive, which will soon explode.

Is there anyway to reinstall iTunes to one of my external hard drives and have it automatically move all of my stuff for me to my external drive?
