remove or clear album "New Folder"

I have an album on my iPad 3 entitled "New Folder". I cannot delete it, I can select the photos in it but cannot delete them, I can copy them but not move them. How do I clear the album, or even better how do I remove the album?

Chances are that if you have an un-deletable album in the Photos app it's because it's been synced via iTunes on a computer. To delete the album you will have to connect the iPad back to the computer, select it in iTunes, go to the Photos sync settings, deselect that album/folder (or turn off photo syncing), then sync the iPad.
