Engadget has a report today detailing some of the iPad 2’s new features, with tip-offs which it says come from sources who are usually “dead rightâ€. Although Engadget had previously reported that an SD card slot and higher resolution display would both be supported, it now says that neither feature will be making it into the final model, due to “engineering issuesâ€, which have forced Apple to make some last-minute changes. So just exactly what will the new iPad 2 have that makes it worth buying then, especially if you’ve already got the first version? Well from what Engadget says, the biggest change is the addition of the front- and rear-facing cameras. Aside from that, their sources tell them that the iPad 2 will be thinner, with 512 MB of RAM, and a more powerful CPU, the A5. Engadget also speculates that Apple will release iOS 5 at the same time as the iPad 2, as well as expanding its cloud services.
