Yet another rumour has surfaced today about Apple’s forthcoming iPad refresh, this time from Japanese website MacOtakara via MacRumors. According to sources in Apple’s supply chain, Apple is set to release an almost-bezel-free 10.9-inch iPad Pro, minus a Home button and with a 9.7-inch footprint.
The iPad in question is said to have a normal-sized top bezel, in order to accommodate the front-facing FaceTime camera, but the bottom bezel will be greatly reduced.
At 7.5mm, this particular model will also be slightly thicker than the current 9.7-inch iPad Pro (which is 6.1mm thick), and the same thickness as the first iPad Air. The next 12.9-inch iPad Pro is also expected to be 0.3mm thicker than the current version, with the new model being 7.2mm.
Other reports have also suggested that Apple will be releasing a 7.9-inch iPad Pro, which will have the same dimensions as the iPad mini 4.
This is only the latest of several recent rumours about a 10-inch-plus iPad Pro, with no clear winner at the moment as to the correct version.
