Pocket Gamer has a heads-up today on a fantastic special offer in the App Store, with Telltale Games dropping the price of Sam & Max Episode 1: The Penal Zone for iPad to $0.99/£0.59 from now until May 2. The game is the first episode in the five part Sam & Max The Devil’s Playhouse series, and not only is it incredibly funny and chock full of classic point-and-click puzzle-solving gameplay, it’s also a beautiful looking game. Retro gaming fans will of course be familiar with legendary “Freelance Police†duo Sam & Max, who in this adventure have to deal with intergalactic gorilla invader Skunk’ape trying to grab Max’s newly discovered mysterious powers, which include future sight, teleportation, shape shifting, and mind reading, and use them for his own fiendish ends.
There have been reports of the game being a little buggy, but Telltale have instructions on iTunes advising that you close all other apps and also relaunch the app to ensure that it runs smoothly. A bargain all the same.
