Saving an attachment

Hi Guys

I have just sent my excel list of phone nos from my laptop to my iPad 2, and the attachment is really good copy and exactly what I wanted to keep on my iPad.

The way I sent it was

Open excel doc
R/c
Send to
Mail recipient
Sent to iPad
Arrived as an attachment

I don't want to leave it there in case I cancel mail, which I do, how/where do I save it?

When you press on the attachment, do you get an "Open In..." option? If yes, then open the attachment in whichever app that showed up in the "open In..." pop-up. Once the app opens, it automatically keeps a copy of the attachment in its own "sandbox". It self-saves, if that's the word to use. So, you can exit the app and when you go back to it, you will see that your attachment is still able to be opened.

Then, you can delete the e-mail, cause it'll be in that other app.

I see what you mean, I was tapping, not pressing, an addition to this post is that I have installed "Goodreader" app, so when pressing, ths's an option I will take.

I am hoping it will operate like My Documents in Windows?

I know you can attach a file, but can you attach a folder which contains many files?

If you mean can you attach a folder to Goodreader? Then, no. You can only open individual files with Goodreader. However, once a file is within Goodreader, you can move it around [within the app] to any place you choose. This includes to existing folders or to new or sub-folders you can make.

Sure does, I will send any/all important files to iPad, then learn to place in folders, it looks like a good app.
