I have a JB iPad 1 and the Digital AV Adapter (HDMI version) most movie players work ok The Apple Videos app and the CineXplayer work perfectly but VLC and AVPlayer do not work well but I thought that I would also be able to see the ipad desktop on the tv as well but I don't. Is there a way to do this?

Shouldn't the iPad AV adapter show the desktop on the TV?
