MacRumors reports that Shure has launched a new line of MOTIV digital microphones for iOS at CES today. The new range is designed to help you more easily record audio on your iOS device, and will launch in summer 2015.
Shure’s MV88 is a digital stereo condenser microphone for iOS, which can be connected via the Lightning port. It is mounted on a 90-degree hinge that rotates so that you can put the microphone in a whole range of positions, which will be useful for both audio and video applications.
The MV51 is a digital large-diaphram condenser microphone with a headphone output and a kickstand that can be used with any microphone stand. It has a touch panel with which to access gain, mute and headphone controls, as well as 24-bit/48 kHz digital recording. The MV51 can be connected to iOS, PC, Mac, and Android devices via the included cables.
Next up, we have the MV5, which is the more standard digital condenser microphone, but which also comes with a detachable stand. It has a headphone output, as well as the relevant cables for PC, Mac, or iOS.
Finally we have the MVi digital audio interface, which is used to connect any XLR microphone or 1/4-inch for guitar, bass or keyboards into an iOS, Mac or PC device.
The free ShurePlus Motiv Mobile Recording app works with the various microphones, enabling the user to choose from five preset modes, adjust microphone gain, compression, equalization and stereo width control. You can also share audio files via email and text using the app.
As yet, there are no cost details provided for the range.
