MacRumors reports on new images that have been posted today by Benjamin Geskin of two cases for the forthcoming 2017 10.5-inch and 12.9-inch iPad Pro models, with Geskin noting that there will be “no new iPad mini this year.” as has been widely expected.
The cases reveal a couple of details about the forthcoming iPads. Firstly, the cutout for the microphone is on the top rear of both cases, just as it is with the recently released 9.7-inch iPad, and not on the right side of the iPad, just above the volume buttons, where it is located on the current 12.9-inch iPad Pro.
Secondly, the cases also have several bigger cutouts that are presumably for four speakers: two on the top of the case and two on the bottom, either side of the Lightning port.
The cases also have inserts for stowing your Apple Pencil, as well as cutouts for the 3.5mm headphone jack, which is set to remain on the new 10.5-inch and 12.9-inch iPad Pro models.
