Can someone explain the strange sounds I am getting from my IPad.I get a squeaky sound when I tap the keyboard not the usual?,Any recorded sound from a video etc is very queasy, even when I close the case cover I get strange noise, which is quite loud, not normal. These sounds occur even with sound adjustment reduced?

I have tried turning Ipad off, the first time, sound reset back to normal, but since it has reoccurred and appears to be permanent .. Any ideas?

Hard reset is pressing and holding Home and Power button at the same time, until the Apple logo appears. Then let go of both. Your iPad will power up on it's own.

Thank you to both Johanna and Eddie, that seems to have done the trick!

I never had problems with my iPad 2 with the sound. Now with my iPad 4 I Have to do a hard reset every day for crisp sound. I wonder if this is hardware or software?

I thought I had solved my sound problem with a hard reset, but like you the problem has returned. It looks like I am going to have to keep doing hard resets to remove.
So a hard reset does not permanently remove problem, it is something more serious!? Could it be a speaker problem or software associated with speaker?

It's possible you have an app that is subjected to notifications running in the background. It could be a big exercise, but you may be able to isolate which app, eg in Games, is using that sound by switching off in Settings>Notifications.
To see the range of sounds your iPad can produce, see Settings>Sounds...another lengthy exercise to check them all but you may recognise that sound that way.

It is an unusual sound, not recognizable as any of the Ipad options.
