Sync with iTunes

I backup and sync my iPad with iTunes. My question is, where does it back up to on my laptop? I want to backup the backup! Thanks

On windows..... documents and settings/owner/application data/apple computer/mobile sync/backup

On Mac....... ~/Library/Application Support/MobileSync/Backup
