Syncing Contacts from IMac to IPad.

My contacts are not being transferred to my IPad when I sync to my IMac. Any suggestions?

Do you use MobileMe? Should happen automatically if you have the accounts set up on both machines, but if it doesn't check your MobileMe sync preferences on the iMac.

Do you use Google? Then use this setup on the iPad Setting up Google Sync with your iOS device : Mail, Calendar, & Contacts - Google Mobile Help and set up a Google account in preferences in Address Book on the iMac. Be careful to choose wisely when prompted for keep, merger, or delete options.

Either of those is superior to syncing through iTunes. But if that is what you need to do then connect the iPad, go into iTunes, select the iPad, go to Info tab and set up syncing for your contacts there. The contacts will only sync when you sync the iPad to iTunes.
