Have an I-Pad 3 & my grand daughter has an I-Pod If I want to text her (free), what address do I use? Her e-mail address?
Likewise, if I am sending a text to my son who has an I-Phone, do I use phone #, e-Mail address?
Also, what about using an I-cloud address?

Yes, you use the e-mail address for the iPod. And, it depends for your son's iPhone. If he has his phone set up to do so, he can receive iMessages from you using either his phone number or his e-mail address. So, you'll have to ask him which one you can use.

I believe you can use an iCloud account, but since I don't use iCloud, I hope that someone else can answer that part for you.
