The "Anything Goes" thread

Hi Rich,

I've just updated iPF. I'm using iOS version 4.3.1

I haven't synchronised the iPad for a good 2 months. I guess some housekeeping will put things in order.

Regards

Rich. (The previous chairman of my running club was called Richard. I am the club president. We used to greet one another with a "Hi Rich. Hi Rich" exchange!)

Hi Rich! :) Thanks for that. I suspect that will set things right, but please let us know if you run into the Parse Error issue again. TIA!

BTW, I've also been Rich all of my life...now if I just had some money. :D

I updated iPF. Parse error has gone. However, I need to update to iOS 5. So that I mY update apps.

Good to hear! You know, if it were me right now, if I didn't have to have one of the new features in iOS 5 I'd just wait for iOS 5.0.1 to be released in a few weeks.

Thanks for the feedback!

We didn't need to leave the house. The display was outside. Hee Hee how lazy was that!

It's a wonderful thing that you do, I'm sure they appreciate it as I'm sure the dogs love seeing you. But true, don't burn yourself out with it. You have to find some sort of balance where it doesn't become a chore for you.
I do admire you for it though.
The walking dogs part doesn't become a chore. I'm doing something else next week (aside from walking), but then I have a few weeks of breaks. I just decided I can't do an extra event every week, but a couple times a month will be okay. I will never never not walk the dogs in the mornings, unless I'm sick.

I don't get paid, being a volunteer, but the happiness those dogs give me, and the satisfaction that I'm giving them attention and love that they need is worth more than money! Truly.

I think what you're doing is terrific as well. I've thought about volunteering but...as you can see by my avatar, we have a "family" already and I don't think I could resist taking every one of them home. I'd have to work in a no-kill shelter otherwise I WOULD bring every one of them home. It's so sad that people don't get their pets spayed and neutered. Anyone that doesn't should be forced to spend time in a shelter.

Anyway, keep up the great and noble work!

This shelter is a no-kill with a very speedy adoption rate, which is good to see. Some dogs only last a day. The longest most dogs last is 2 or 3 weeks. At first I used to get sad about it, because I love each and every one of them, but I can't have a dog right now (for a lot of reasons), so I couldn't adopt even if I wanted to. In a year from now, when I will be able to adopt.. well.. I'll probably bring one of those dogs home immediately.

You are so right about the spay/neutering. My cat was a stray when I rescued her. She was 8 years old and hadn't been fixed. She had tons of litters, my poor baby. She isn't an outdoor cat so she wouldn't have any more, but she got fixed at the shelter I adopted her at.

The dog I really loved from today was found as a stray. :( I hope it was an accident. But I know a lot of times people just let their dogs go to fend for themselves. Angers me to no end.

Agreed...maybe it's the people that don't care about animals that should be "fixed" so they can't pass on their "stupid gene".

I also think everyone should be required to chip their dogs and cats before they can own them.

On a lighter note, these sorts of things always remind me of one of my favorite Python skits...
