The "Anything Goes" thread

I thought this was very clever!

Good example of a Brain Study: If you can read this you have a strong mind:

It is awesome how actually intelligent we all are.

That numbers thing made my head hurt, but I could read it!

My placement process has finally ended. I spoke to the principal of the middle school today, and I start in a 6th grade classroom on Monday. I was supposed to be placed 6 weeks ago, but I suppose that is irrelevant now. I have MAYBE 14 school days before the semester is over, so I'd better make the most of that time. (We were supposed to teach for a solid month, but my school screwing me out of a placement until now prevents that. I'm going to observe these first three days and hopefully teach the Monday after Thanksgiving.)

On You Tube, there is a video of a demonstration showing just how much we do not see when we see. The video shows a friendly basketball game and the viewer is asked to count how many times the players in white shirts pass the ball.

Interestingly, a gorilla walks through the game, pauses, does a little jig and walks off.

Even more interestingly, many people do not see the gorilla.

The brain is endlessly fascinating.

Hence the serious questionability of "eye witness" testimony.

That looks brilliant, no wonder you'd like it. If they incorporated Siri into it, it would be like that Knight Rider car Kitt! :)

We Aussies are all here though!

if you use the viper 5902. you can download a apple app, android and blackberry app that allows you to use the cars alarm where ever you have access to internet. so lets say one day you forget the keys in your car. no need for a tow truck or lock smith, just whip out you cell phone and bam you can unlock the car. lets say your friend or significant other is driving the car and forgets the keys in the car. and you are on a vacation half way across the world but you have internet. you can simply go on your phone and unlock it.

I've got that video.

Our previous CEO used it during his motivational speeches.

I've sat and watched over 100 people watch that video and not see the gorilla.

I missed the gorilla the first time I saw the video as well. I would never admit that publicly, however.
