What's new

The "Anything Goes" thread

That's funny, besides my Colgate toothpaste, my other toothpaste is gano. That is the only gano product that I use. It helps relieves mouth sores, can be used as burn ointment, tried rubbing a small amount on my forehead to relieve headache, and as muscle pain reliever too. Didn't know that they have coffee. I checked the website and got the distributors number. Thanks Admiral. I'll post the sachet once I get it.

I don't know if the gano has anything to do with this but I made a cup around 7pm and thought I would regret it because it would keep me awake.
Surprisingly it didn't.

Asked my in-law about gano and says that it's not as strong as regular coffee to make you awake at night. Hmmmm, have to try it. Didn't know she's also a distributor.

Another breakfast item. My son found this in China.

This is my "getting crazed" mug. Reserved for a triple espresso shot finished with Ethiopian coffee. I'm a pretty plain guy except when it involves coffee.

Admiral...have you tried Kopi Luwak....the beans pass through the digestive tract of a civet cat and then are roasted.

It goes for $50 a cup here. We tried it in Bali for $2

I've heard of it but haven't experienced it.

How was it?

I don't drink coffee in the first place, so I couldn't give a good appraisal of it.

Hubby didn't mind it, though wouldn't part with $50 for the pleasure.

Bloomin feral civet cat though....snarled the whole time at us. Poor thing locked in a small cage, not a nice life.
Mesh flooring for his cage so the beans could be collected easily

There was an interesting programme on Channel 5 yesterday evening.

It was about David Thompson who mapped Canada. The demonstrations of how he solved surveying problems were most interesting. For example he devised a way of creating an artificial horizon by viewing a reflection of the sun in a dish of water. This assisted with his use of a sextant.

I loved the programme :), but my wife was soon bored :(

Shame, if we had spotted that programme, we would have picked it up. Sounds fascinating.

Sorry I gave out the wrong channel. It was on Dave - Freeview 19 or Sky 111. I think another episode in the series will be on next week. This links to the blurbs. http://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/b00nqhwl/episodes/guide

I wish I'd heard of this series before now. Hopefully there are DVDs for hire.
