....what the heck is that plastic bottle with the silly face on it doing there on Mars?
And that gravelly ground looks very much like Southend beach with the tide out

Oh what a fantastic picture....

It's a piece of the Mars device. It's bristling with gear and often, parts of the machine can be seen in pictures, especially in panorama format.

Saw that first "plastic bottle" photo late last night. That's after a hard day of "trying" to switch to NASA & see the news arriving...Sigh

Looked at it again in the night--not sleeping much, worrying about it

So, looking at it again now, drinking first coffee (midday)...and still not convinced. Can't find any image on NASA that could relate to it. DH is even more cynical--about that one. However, we will put it on the back burner for now (mmmmm, surprised at that just now).

BUT we are blown away by the NEWS & the IMAGES!!! WOW.

Would it be worth Mars having a separate thread?

I'm wondering about Lurgie too?

Don't know Marvin the Martian? But might it be those drawings with the little head appearing over the wall saying "Wot, no bread?" (or whatever). But think that was during the war & the rationing immediately after, so not 60s.

It's those I'm thinking of. It must be the sons of the wartime ones . A little bald head with 1 hair shaped like a ? And with the nose and hands over and in front of the wall.

They preceded the Mexicans seen from above : D
