OMG

My home town is finally green! Maps has been corrected in this area. My faith has been restored. Thank goodness. Took them long enough.

That's interesting, my location is also now in colour and as clear as it was in the old maps app.

Personally I think they handled this pretty quickly as I'm sure that Somerset and Kent wouldn't have been right at the top of their priorities list.

Oh? You too. I was checking to see when hubby was coming home on find my iphone and the map was green. It has been grey since the IOS 6 update. A big slab of grey and dorset was okay and the west of somerset was a green blur. Couldn't see anything. Very quick. I have been sending corrections when I could so hopefully this helped. Salisbury cathedral is still showing its in two places though. Depending on where you are. Eiffel Tower is still a squashed piece of metal. Oops!

They finished this junction off too. When Apple Maps first saw daylight it showed up as a construction site, although it had been open for several months.

It's the Anthony Henday Drive/Stony Plain Road junction in Edmonton.

Some species of tree in the UK are under threat.

We may lose our ash trees to a wind-borne fungus.

Now there is a breaking story that our oak trees may be threatened.

It's so sad, and it reminds me of the spread of Dutch Elm disease which wiped out the UK Dutch Elms in the early 1970's.

Dutch elm disease is sweeping across Canada. Everywhere around Regina is infested with the disease but, as of yet, there have been relatively few cases inside the city.

It's a devastating disease. It was unstoppable when it hit the UK. I wonder whether Kew Gardens Arborculturalists have found effective treatments.

I've just been landed with iOS 6.0.1 for ipad & iOS updated for ip5 .

I see no mention of any maps upgrade which I thought they may have included, especially from the complaint to, albeit haven't been problematic for me!

I assume doing an update ota should be ok and I'll preserve all data???

Maps won't be upgraded in an iOS update. The maps are being repaired, and are immediately available within the existing app.

The best bet when doing an update is to do a backup first.

Indeed, my area is already back to the level of detail that it was under the previous maps version (although if I zoom out I may find that the UK is now part of Central Asia!).
