I'm currently changing door handles to door knobs, just before I redecorate the circulation areas of our house.




From this...




.... To this.

It's not straightforward. I need to fit wood inserts under the latches to pack the handle spindle holes si I have something to screw the ceramic backplates to. I also have to file down the bottoms of spindles so they slide through the latches. So much for standardised building components!




I need to buy washers or backplates for the snibbed catches to the bathroom doors.





Life's little challenges, eh. I must post a couple of pics of the finished job
